Sydney, 21 Aug (Lusa) - The Revolutionary Front for Independent East Timor (FRETILIN) in Sydney on Thursday appoved a new organisational structure, such as the setting-up of a presidential council. The new presidential council, which comprise non-FRETILIN members, will co-ordinate all FRETILIN activites, according to a resolution approved by the party's national conference which ended in Sydney on Thursday. The presidential council will be chaired by Lo-olo, the secretary of FRETILIN's steering committee (''comissao directiva''). The council will be FRETILIN's top political organ. Mar-Alkatiri was confirmed by acclamation as the presidential council's first vice-co-ordinator. The council will also include an enlarged central committee comprising 50 members, 45 of them from the internal resistance in East Timor.-Lusa nnnn
