Asian Dev Bank approves $30 mln East Timor project
MANILA, April 25 (Reuters) - The Asian Development Bank said on Tuesday
it had approved a $29.8 million project in East Timor for road repairs,
power restoration and the expansion of Dili port facilities.
The ADB and the World Bank are managers of the Trust Fund for East
Timor, from which the current project's funds will be sourced.
The project is aimed at improving the infrastructure of the strife-torn
area.
The ADB said the road repairs in East Timor would facilitate
resettlement of displaced persons and refugees and the delivery of food.
Power was also vital for health services, it said.
