Timor gets Sydney style
TWO senior managers of Sydney's New Year's Eve celebrations will go to
East Timor to produce East Timor's inaugural Independence Day celebrations
in May.
Sydney City Council decided last night to provide about $65,000 in
salaries and expenses for New Year's Eve artistic director Ignatius Jones
and production manager Ed Wilkinson to go to East Timor to manage the
event.
The United Nations will fund four other New Year's Eve team members
from Sydney.
