Kupang, E Nusa Tenggara, Nov 12 (ANTARA) - The East Nusa Tenggara
provincial police command plans to establish anti-terrorism cooperation
with the East Timor police, the command's chief said here on Wednesday.
"I will go to East Timor later this month to discuss the matter," Brig
Gen Edward Aritonang said.
He said he considered the cooperation important as the province and
East Timor shared the same island.
"We will sign a kind of memorandum of understanding to make the
cooperation more orderly and well coordinated," he said.
Asked about the possibilities of terrorists entering the region from
East Timor, Edward diplomatically said that no place in the world was free
from possible terrorist threats.
Edward said that he had already stationed intelligence officers at
entry points to prevent possible entry of terrorists or persons wanted by
the Indonesian police.
