East Timor: 'No one's perfect': Gusmão reaction to Gen. Wiranto presidential bid

Viseu, Portugal, April 21 (Lusa) - East Timorese President Xanana Gusmão diplomatically declined Wednesday to comment on the presidential candidacy of General Wiranto in Indonesia's upcoming elections.

"No one's perfect", Gusmão responded laconically when asked by journalists for a reaction to the choice of Gen. Wiranto, who has been indicted by Dili for crimes against humanity, as the presidential candidate of Indonesia's Golkar Party.

An UN-headed Dili court indicted Wiranto, Jakarta's former Armed Forces chief and defense minister, last year for crimes against humanity committed in occupied East Timor in 1999.

Gusmão is in Portugal on a week-long visit.
