East Timor: Lisbon funds USD 1.3 mn project to bring water to Ataśro Island
Dili, Nov. 23 (Lusa) - East Timor and Portugal signed a cooperation accord
Tuesday under which Lisbon has agreed to fund a USD 1.3 million project to bring
drinking water to the island of Ataśro.
Rehabilitation and extension of an existing water capitation system and the
building of new distribution network will bring drinking water to about 4,000
citizens living in the south and east of Ataśro, which lies about 25 kms north
of Dili.
The cooperation accord was signed by Timor`s minister of transport,
communication and public works, Ovķdio Amaral and Portugal`s ambassador to Dili,
Joćo Ramos Pinto.
