newly-apointed East Timor Prosecutor-General, Ms. Ana Pessoa has met with
President Jose Ramos Horta on Wednesday (5/3) to discuss preparations for
the swearing-in ceremony which will take place soon.
Timor-Leste and Petronas talk on funding LNG construction Radio
Televisaun Timor Leste 5 March 2009 - The Timorese Government and the
Malaysian Petronas Company are currently discussing the provision of funds
worth US $10 billion for the construction of a Liquid Natural Gas (LNG)
plant in Timor-Leste.
Petronas agrees with viability of pipeline building to Timor-Leste
Radio Televisaun Timor Leste 5 March 2009 - The Malaysian state-owned
Petronas Company has agreed on the viability of the construction of a
pipeline to Timor-Leste after its technical team conducted research in the
Timor Sea on the possibility of building gas and oil field pipelines to
Timor-Leste.

2009 - Newly-appointed Deputy Prime Minister II, Mario Viegas Carrascalao,
who is also current MP of the Social Democratic Party (PSD), has pledged
to hold a regular inspection of all government ministries because it is an
important duty that should be prioritised.
Police officers ready to collaborate with Monteiro Timor Post 5 March
2009 - The Timorese National Police (PNTL) officials have stated that they
are ready to collaborate with the Government's newly-appointed Police
Commander, Longuinhos Monteiro, to lead the country's police force.
F-FDTL soldiers will be deployed on border at end of March: Brigadier
Ruak Radio Televisaun Timor Leste 5 March 2009 - General Taur Matan Ruak
said his soldiers would be deployed in the border zones of Bobonaro and
Covalima Districts in the end of March.
LABEH concerns about Timor Radio and Television purchase of cars case
Radio Televisaun Timor Leste 5 March 2009 - The Director of the national
corruption watch non-governmental organisation, LABEH, Christopher Henry
Samson, said he was concerned about investigations into the Timorese
Public Broadcasting Service (RTTL)'s cars purchasing case by the
Inspectorate General, as it had been about two years, yet no result had
reached.
