Timor Leste 3 June 2009 - Director for the Timorese Forum of NGOs (FONGTIL)
Dinora Grandineira said the police's recent research of the house of the
Pualaka company director was normal; people should not use the opportunity
to defame the justice minister.
Everyone is subject to the law: JSMP Director Radio Televisaun Timor
Leste 3 June 2009 - Director of the JSMP (Judicial System Monitoring
Program) Luis Oliveira said the recent search of the house belonging to a
Pualaka company director demonstrates that everyone in East Timor is
subject to the law but accusations must have regard to the principle of
the presumption of innocence.
Government to send proposed State Budget to the Parliament in September
Radio Televisaun Timor Leste 3 June 2009 - Parliamentary President
Fernando Lasama de Araujo said the Government would hand over its proposed
state budget for 2010 on September 15 to the Parliament for approval.
Lasama concerns about Committee A as it sends enquiry law to President
Suara Timor Lorosae 3 June 2009 - Parliamentary President Fernando Lasama
de Araujo has expressed concerns over the Parliamentary Committee A's
attitude evident in its sending the parliamentary enquiry law to President
Jose Ramos Horta to promulgate it even though he has not signed it yet.
Police search into Pualaka officer is unknown to Minister Lobato Suara
Timor Lorosae 3 June 2009 - The search by the Timorese National Police (PNTL)
and the UN Police of the house belonging to a Pualaka company director was
not known to Justice Minister Lucia Lobato. The Minister also denied the
allegation saying it was a falsehood.
Prosecutor General starts to reduce pending cases Suara Timor Lorosae 3
June 2009 - The Timorese Prosecutor General Ana Pessoa Pinto is now making
efforts to reduce the backlog of pending cases in the courts.
Prime Minister's Adviser calls for LABEH to hold investigation Timor
Post 3 June 2009 - Prime Ministerial Adviser Joaquim Freitas has called on
the Director of local anti-corruption NGO LABEH Christopher Henry Samson
to send his team to hold an investigation into the allocation funds to
civil society organisations because he has publicly stated that there was
no transparency in the budget allocation.
It is a test of the Courts: JSMP Timor Post 3 June 2009 - Director of
the Judicial System Monitoring Program (JSMP) Luis de Oliveira said the
attempted assassination of the President on February 11 2008 which was
being legally processed was a test of the courts and that the case would
be tried this month.
Public Prosecution to investigate Pualaka Company Radio Televisaun
Timor Leste 3 June 2009 - The Public Prosecutor plans to hold an
investigation into the case of falsifying documents on supplying fuel to
Government institutions before taking the case to the court.
Police research into Pualaka Company is positive: Luta Hamutuk Radio
Televisaun Timor Leste 3 June 2009 - Director of Luta Hamutuk (an economic
justice NGO in East Timor Mericio Akara said the recent police search of
the Pualaka Company director's house was positive for the implementation
of the laws in Timor-Leste.
