External voting in E Timor poll not complicated: organisers

The International Organisation for Migration says the voting process for Timorese people living outside East Timor will be the same as the internal process.

The organisation, which is conducting the August external vote for Timorese people living in other countries, is currently based in Darwin.

The organisation's Jeff Labovitz says his organisation will be conducting polls in Indonesia, Portugal, Macau, the United States and Mozambique.

"Right now we're involved for the sixth time in Bosnia, which is called out-of-country voting, and this'll be the seventh external voting for East Timor," he said.

"It can be very complicated, the Bosnia operation is much more complicated than the East Timor one, because you are dealing with the boundaries between entities and muncipalities, while this one itself is a 'yes-no' question."
