Japan, E. Timor Ink Technological Cooperation Accord January 25, 2005 4:28pm Tokyo, Jan. 25 (Jiji Press)--Japan and East Timor on Tuesday signed a technological cooperation agreement that will smooth Japan's assistance for East Timor, the Foreign Ministry said. The signing took place in Dili between Japanese Ambassador to East Timor Hideaki Asahi and Olimpio Miranda Branco, vice minister of foreign affairs and cooperation, it said. Under the agreement, the East Timor government will grant a wide range of benefits, such as tax exemptions, for Japanese officials including experts and members of the Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers to be sent there.
