Díli, 26 Dez (Lusa) - As eleições presidenciais no Timor Leste deverão ocorrer no início de abril e as legislativas em agosto, de acordo com uma reunião realizada nesta terça-feira na Presidência da República, disse à Lusa um dos participantes.

"Foram debatidos três cenários e a realização das segundas eleições presidenciais em abril e das primeiras legislativas em agosto é a hipótese mais consensual e que menos dificuldades, logísticas e de interpretação legal, suscita", acrescentou a fonte contactada pela Lusa.

Os outros dois cenários colocados apontavam para a simultaneidade e para o adiamento das duas eleições.

A data definitiva dos dois escrutínios será fixada pelo presidente Xanana Gusmão em janeiro de 2007, depois das cerca de duas semanas de férias que vai gozar na Indonésia, para onde partiu nesta terça.

A reunião desta terça-feira visou concluir o debate iniciado no último dia 21, em que também participaram componentes do Conselho de Estado, órgão consultivo do chefe de Estado, e representantes dos partidos políticos com representação parlamentar.

Segundo outro participante na reunião desta terça, Xanana Gusmão considera-se informado das posições dos seus conselheiros e dos partidos políticos, faltando apenas ouvir o governo, o que será feito em janeiro, antes da marcação definitiva das duas eleições.
