Hendo talks oil employment opportunities with Rudd
The Northern Territory Chief Minister Paul Henderson has spoken to the Prime Minister Kevin Rudd about boosting training opportunities for East Timorese people in Australia.
Mr Henderson wants systems to be put in place to help East Timorese people and other overseas workers to gain qualifications for the local oil and gas industry.
Kevin Rudd yesterday visited schools and community events in Darwin and Palmerston during a stopover on his way to international climate talks in Bali.
Mr Henderson said he also used his meeting with the Prime Minister to discuss the latest developments with the $12 billion Inpex gas plant project in Darwin.
