According to a message received on 3 November from our sources in East Timor, Palur,
the commander of Falintil's Region 3, has sent a message of condolence to the families of
four members of ABRI - the Indonesian armed forces - from Kopassus Group I who were killed
during an armed contact with Falintil guerrillas. The armed contact occurred between an
ABRI unit and Falintil's 7th Elite unit on 29 October in the district of Manufahi.
In his condolence message, Palur expressed the hope that the souls of the four
deceased, Slamet Iman Prabowo (10-Nop-55) from Surabaya, Abdul Latif (11-8-61), Zainuddin
(3-Jan-71) from Tasikmalaya, dan Sumanto (1975) - would be received in heaven by the
Almighty and that the bereaved families will have the strength to cope with their loss.
