Timor/Australia: 19 year old girl raped and killed by members of Indonesian special
brigade
Sydney, Oct. 13 (Lusa) - A 19-year old East Timorese girl recently raped and killed by
members of a special brigade of the Indonesian armed forces in the eastern part of the
occupied territory of East Timor, resistance sources told LUSA in Sydney on Monday. The
sources identified the victim as Anastacia, a niece of a commander of FALINTIL, the armed
wing of East Timor's resistance to occupation by Indonesia. Her body was found by
residents near the settlement of Maoptine in the district of Los Palos.
The source blamed Indonesian's special brigades for the fatal attack, adding the victim
had been stabbed to death. The resistance sources said that another East Timorese girl,
Severina, had been attacked at least twice by Indonesian soldiers of the ''Raja Wali''
troops. Severina is a niece of Lo-Olo, co-ordinator of the presidential council of
FRETILIN in East Timor. The Timorese Women's Organisation (OMT) is reportedly preparing a
report on the incidents.-Lusa nnnn
