AEPPOLTI, with high consideration, pretends to appeal to the Most Excellent President so that can make up the decision to resolve friendly the East Timorese question,because EastTimorese problem makes always major preoccuopation to your government. Your Excellent knows very well that during twenty three years (23) of the resistence, the timorese people resisted to atain the Self-determination and Independence like the indonesian people had fought against Dutch for the independence. If we continue to talk on the special autonomy for East Timor, the timorese peolpe doesn,t accept it because indonesia continues to maintain its policy and military in East Timor,it is same the integration. Many members from APODETI, UDT, TRABALHISTA and KOTA supported the Self-determination and Independence. The timoreses know to love one another. They regreted already all their mistakes, because almost three hundreds thousands were dead in East Timor The indonesian people understood already the suffering of timorese peolpe.So many of them supported the REFERENDUM for East Timor and to know clearly the willing of East Timor,s people. If majority will choose or vote for the integration.It,s right. We must respect the vote of majority. AEPPOLTI thinks that it,s better manner to find a good solution for East Timor,s question, free our leader Xanana Gusmao from Cipinang,s prison and makes dialogue with him in the next talks in United Nations, because indonesia never wanted to dialogue with Ramos Horta and other representatives from Resistence . The East Timorese people wish to live in peace and tranquility with its neighbours in the regional area.Timorese people doesn,t want the war again. Indonesian government must be carefull with its internal policy and economical crisis into the nation to avoid the constant demonstrations of students in Jakarta.It,s better devolved East Timor problem to the Portugal and United Nations,because UNO still recognized Portugal as administering power of East Timor. AEPPOLTI hope that Your Excellency must understand this appeal, because APPOLTI always accompanied everyday all the events in Indonesia and in East Timor. |
