FDTL Will Not Be Involved In Politics (STL/7/2/01)
Falur Rate Laek, FDTL's First Commander of Company III, said that the
Defence Force of Timor Lorosa'e will not be involved in politics in its
future work. It will also not be involved in business or in civil
security. "FDTL will only defend the security of the nation. It will
be a professional and neutral force." He said that the PKF now in
Timor Lorosa¡¦e cannot leave without taking into account the situation
here that is still hot and threatening. When they reduce their men or
force here, they would have to do it from a military point of view.
