Radio Australia Qantas to end Dili service
The Australian airline Qantas has confirmed air services from the north
coast city of Darwin to East Timor will end at the end of the month.
The airline began flying twice daily, four days a week, to the East
Timor capital Dili, in May last year.
It upgraded the service to seven days a week in August but says
customer demand has since fallen then, and the service is no longer
commercially viable.
It says it's negotiating with Air North, which also operates twice
daily flights from Darwin to Dili, about carrying Qantas passengers.
