East Timor gets worldwide express delivery service

BANGKOK, Thailand (AP) _ The courier service FedEx Express said Wednesday that it has established weekday door-to-door deliveries to East Timor, the world's newest nation.

The company is believed to be the first to offer such a service.

A package from anywhere in the world will take three working days to get to East Timor, FedEx's South Pacific region spokesman Adrian Grundy said.

The service, which started Feb. 6, routes deliveries for East Timor through Singapore and Denpasar, Indonesia.

FedEx's local partner in East Timor, SDV Logistics East Timor, operates ground deliveries there.
