Sarmento: Many Asian Investors Interested in Timor-Leste
The Director of Asia Regional Division of the Minister of Foreign
Affairs, Roberto Sarmento Soares, told the media on Wednesday that Asian
investors, especially the ones from Indonesia, are interested in Timor-Leste.
He said that although Timor-Leste delegation participated in the ASEAN
Business and Investment Summit as observers only, they managed to meet
with various delegations and exchanges ideas and opinions. (TP)
Longuinhos on Interpol General Assembly Meeting
The Timorese General-Prosecutor, Longuinhos Monteiro told the media on
Thursday that preliminary investigation on the shooting incident in the
border indicates that the bullet that killed former militia member,
Francisco Viegas Viriato does not belong to the BPU, reported Suara Timor
Lorosae on Friday. Monteiro said that Indonesia has offered to cooperate
in the investigation, but he prefers that his office to conducts a
thorough investigation, the incident first and cross checking the evidence
provided by pathologists. He added that he is leading the investigation
due to some "awkwardness" in the case. The Prosecutor General
stressed that the issue in question is the "bullet", which,
according to his point of view, does not belong to the BPU but "maybe
to someone else". (STL)
