8 May 2009 - MP Adriano do Nascimento from the East Timor Democratic Party
(PD) has urged Minister for Planning and Finance Emilia Pires to appear in
the Parliament to clarify the recruitment process for the appointment of
an international adviser as Director for the Customs Department.

Ministers Hermenegildo Pereira said the Council of Ministers had approved
new internal security laws and received a draft law of national security
and defence.

2009 - Timorese Defence Force Commander Brigadier General Taur Matan Ruak

Man detained over sexual assault of 75 year old lady Radio Televisaun
Timor Leste 7 May 2009 - A twenty-one-year old man has appeared in the
courtaccused of sexually assaulting a seventy-five year old lady in Betano
in Same on 1 April.
Government is obliged to provide proper facilities for defence force
soldiers Radio Televisaun Timor Leste 7 May 2009 - State Secretary for
Defense Julio Thomas Pinto said that the Government had the obligation to
provide proper facilities, such as clean water supply and toilets for
defence soldiers that were deployed on the border.
Carrascalao should take action against Minister Lobato Suara Timor
Lorosae 7 May 2009 - Deputy Prime Minister II Mario Viegas Carrascalao
should take action against Minister for Justice Lucia Lobato because of
corruption allegations against her according to the Director of
anti-corruption civil society organisation LABEH (Mirror for All)
Christopher Henry Samson.
