Government and UNMIT decide to hand over mandate to PNTL Radio
Televisaun Timor Leste 14 May 2009 - The Timorese Government led by Prime
Minister Xanana Gusmao and the United Nations Integrated Mission in Timor-Leste
(UNMIT) led by Atul Khare have made a decision to hand over security
responsibility to the Timorese National Police (PNTL).
Alkatiri urges Government to hold investigation Radio Televisaun Timor
Leste 14 May 2009 - Fretilin Secretary General Mari Alkatiri has urged the
Parliamentary Majority Alliance (AMP) Government to hold an investigation
into corruption found within the former Fretilin government.
Gusmao will not sack his ministers without proof of corruption Radio
Televisaun Timor Leste 14 May 2009 - Prime Minister Xanana Gusmao has
declared he will not sack his ministers if there were no tangible and
concrete evidences showing their engagement in corruption.
Alkatiri not afraid of Anti-Corruption Commission Suara Timor Lorosae
14 May 2009 Former Prime Minister Mari lkatiri said Fretilin was not
afraid of the proposed anti-corruption commission to hold an investigation
into the Fretilin former government.
Police prohibit children to drive Suara Timor Lorosae 14 May 2009 -
Dili District Deputy Police Commander Sub Inspector Delfim da Silva said
children under the age of 16 were not allowed to drive motorbikes and if
under 18 years old of children were not allowed to drive cars.
Govt to contact Portugal PM about approaching ANACOM Timor Post 14 May
2009 - Deputy Minister for Infrastructures Jose Manuel Carrascalao said
the Timorese Government would contact the Portuguese government to press
Portugal's Telecommunications Authority (ANACOM) to change contract for
the Timor Telecom Company.
